It's not like I have a huge following, but for those of you who periodically check this site to see if I am up to anything new, well, I am, but not here.
I am working on a new website - Walking to Emmaus - that includes a blog, but hopefully much more. I want the website to be more interactive in the sense that friends will participate and contribute to an ongoing discussion about living out our faith, a Third Way kind of faith, in a world that sometimes seems to be spiraling out of control.
This site has become increasingly cumbersome and I am extremely limited in what I hope to accomplish. In addition, and maybe more important, I have been going through a shift in how I see my role as a Christian here on earth. I am increasingly convinced that we are (I am) guilty of living as if God's kingdom is strictly a future reality when we ought to be showing, through the way we live our lives, that the kingdom of heaven is, in part, already here. This shift is reflected in the change of titles. Instead of seeing myself as a visitor, I want to be actively walking, searching, pondering, trying to live this thing called faith in a better way.
If you have been kind enough to read any of my writing, I would love to have you join me at Walking to Emmaus. Even more, I would love for you to contribute your thoughts and perspectives. It is an evolving site, so I welcome your input and suggestions. The big idea is to make the site a respectful, friendly place for conversation on faith, even when participants might disagree. Through those conversations, it is my hope that we will "spur one another on to love and good deeds" and to "be transformed by the renewing of your mind" so that we "will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Please join me on the way to Emmaus and help me keep my eyes open for Jesus on the way!
