736. A visit from Jim and Gail.
737. Observing Calli's senior pictures photo shoots and realizing that my little girl is not so little anymore!
738. Building endurance for running - going a little farther, a little faster with a little less pain!
739. A break in the heat and actually getting a little chilly at night.
740. The chance to comfort, listen to, and pray for friends.
741. Hearing the frequent conversations between Calli and Laura, her friend in Spain - Calli helping Laura with English and Laura helping Calli with Spanish.
742. Listening to Colby and Calli talk about Spanish and using Spanish. Who would have thought that we would have two Spanish speaking children?
744. Hannah and Kellie's hard work to make their trip to Ethiopia a reality!
745. Peanut-butter, chocolate chip banana bread
746. Biscuits & gravy at mom's.
747. Kayaking with the family.
748. Picking raspberries with Kimber, Katie and Brin
749. Waffle Window
750. Taking Colby to the airport to embark on another adventure. As hard as it is to say good-bye, it is so awesome to see the way he is experiencing life and faith in the context of the whole world and using the experiences to shape is goals for serving God.
751. Dinner at Teote's with Brent, Martha and Mateo - it is so good to have friends in other places to spend time with.
752. A road trip with Sandy, exploring things we have always driven past in previous trips.
753. A grocery shopping trip filled with laughter with Sandy & Calli.
754. The willingness of others to help, even with a small request to borrow a backpack - thanks Matt & Joanna, Greg, and Tim!
755. Lunch with a former student, from way back in my early days at Salk, and hearing what every teacher wants to hear - that I made an impact on her life!
756. Being able to do a day trip with my mom to see family that she does not get to see much anymore.
757. Airbnb and the hosts (who I will actually meet soon) who have been so gracious and helpful as I try to navigate the plans for my big trip.
758. Pictures from Jamaica
759. Grand plans of good intentions with Jared and Erika, that will, with God’s help, be more than just good intentions!
760. Conversations with my kids and hearing them embrace the values that Sandy and I embrace, not just because they are mimicking us, but because they are thinking for themselves and understanding them as valuable, in spite of the opposition that they sometimes encounter. It is a blessing to hear them talk about the value of experiencing life in diverse contexts and placing a high value on their education, all wrapped up in understanding and living their faith better. That alone feels like a thousand blessings!
